At the occasion of the Adriatic Trilateral Initiative<\/a>, inaugurated in Split on 10 February 2017, PAP\/RAC received a visit of a delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Davor Ivo Stier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, H.E. Mr. Ditmir Bushati, Minister of Foreign Affairs of of Albania, and H.E. Mr. Sr\u00f0an Darmanovi\u00e6, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.<\/p>\n

The Croatia-Albania-Montenegro initiative was launched to contribute to the stability and security of this part of the Adriatic and Europe, and to intensify the dialogue on issues of common interest for these three countries. Some of the key areas include political dialogue, regional and international security, environmental protection, economy and tourism, transport, as well as energy and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

This first meeting of the Adriatic Trilateral Initiative was an excellent opportunity for the delegation to visit PAP\/RAC \u2013 the institution which successfully cooperates with the three countries in environmental protection and sustainable development of the Adriatic region.<\/p>\n

The delegation was received by \u017deljka \u0160kari\u00e8i\u00e6, PAP\/RAC Director, who briefly introduced the Barcelona Convention system, the PAP\/RAC specific objectives and its main fields of action, with particular reference to the role of PAP\/RAC in assisting the Contracting Parties in implementing the ICZM Protocol. Having underlined the long and fruitful cooperation with the three countries, she presented two examples of PAP\/RAC cooperation with Croatian authorities and institutions while Marina Markovi\u00e6, PAP\/RAC Programme Officer, presented two coastal zone management projects implemented in Albania and
