On October 10, Countdown \u2013 a global initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis was launched at<\/p>\n

TED<\/a> is a non-profit organization that has become famous for its goal \u2013 Ideas Worth Spreading. In its famous 18 minutes or shorter talks, a number of fascinating persons have been sharing their ideas and experiences for decades.<\/p>\n

This new TED initiative in partnership with Future Stewards has a goal to turn ideas for solving climate crises into action. In five sessions, more than 50 speakers shared their views, insights, and practices on urgency, leadership, transformation, breakthrough and action. From UN leaders to leading scientists, policy makers, businessmen, artists, celebrities; from Mr. Guterres and Ms Figueres; from Prince William to the concluding speech by Pope Francis; all inspired leaders inviting us to build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world \u2013 a world that is safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone.<\/p>\n

This valuable contributions of more than 50 remarkable persons are available on the TED web site<\/p>\n

The Editor\u2019s choice for a quick insight into the urgency would be a fabulous presentation by Mr. Rockst\u00f6rm<\/a>, director of the Potsdam Institute, for an insight into the climate justice and the needs of the developing world you may see Ms Mutiso<\/a>, to understand the transformation force within cities watch Ms Araya<\/a>, and if you want to feel the breakthrough see the presentation by Mr. Crowther<\/a>, ecosystem ecology professor, who brings hope and opportunity to join the global RESTOR initiative aiming at restoring the biodiversity of the Earth\u2019s ecosystems.
