The project aimed to address these challenges by promoting a more integrated and sustainable approach to coastal planning and management.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CAMP Var served as one of the early pilot projects for testing ICZM methodologies in the Mediterranean, helping to bridge sectoral policies and improve coordination between national, regional and local stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A strong emphasis was placed on spatial planning, environmental protection, risk management and stakeholder participation, to develop replicable approaches for other coastal regions.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Objectives<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CAMP Var focused on strengthening coastal governance and sustainable development by aiming to:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">introduce and test ICZM approaches in the Var coastal area<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">support balanced development between tourism, urban growth and environmental protection<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">improve coordination among institutions responsible for coastal management<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">develop tools for integrated spatial planning and decision-making<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">enhance stakeholder participation in coastal governance processes<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">address coastal risks, including erosion, pollution and natural hazards<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h2>Main results<\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CAMP Var project generated a range of strategic, methodological and practical outputs that contributed to advancing ICZM implementation in France.
