Main results
The project contributed to embedding economic considerations into environmental planning and implementation:
- economic instruments were identified and promoted as tools to support SAP-MED implementation
- financial, legal and administrative mechanisms were strengthened at the national level
- economic instruments were incorporated into National Action Plans
- the benefits of integrated and economically informed environmental management were demonstrated
Role of PAP/RAC
PAP/RAC led the implementation of the project, facilitating cooperation between national partners, international organisations and experts, and supporting the development and uptake of economic instruments across the region.
