The UNEP/MAP Ecosystem Approach provides a roadmap toward achieving a healthy, biologically diverse Mediterranean Sea and coast. Through eleven Ecological Objectives and the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme (IMAP), Contracting Parties monitor and assess environmental status using a harmonized regional system supporting sustainable management for present and future generations.
